Terminal operations are becoming more connected.

Trucks, gates, loading bays, tanks, field devices, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and control systems all need to work together. For terminal teams, this creates a familiar challenge: where should one system stop and another begin?

At first, this may sound like a technical question.

Which system controls the gate?
Which system sends a signal?
